The good thing about getting up so flippin’ early in the morning is that if we’re road-tripping, we get a jump on the day. It is lovely and cool this morning and before it gets busy and hot, we’ll already be up the mountain. The rivers are full of snow melt, so that should be fun.

Yosemite isn’t quite as close as Sequoia, but they are both above the Valley heat and the fog–which is the main draw for me.

The spring slopes are just crammed with wildflowers.

The waterfalls are roaring with the snowmelt.

When I was a little girl, we had a cabin up in Sequoia and it smelled so delicious. Yosemite smells the same way. More than piney and fresh–it smells just like air is manufactured there.
