Ben has designed a Calalina-style tile for the hearth and surround. It is sort of a Celtic knot with four stylized hearts in sage, deep forest green, ivory and crime scene red. It is beyond beautiful.
We took the fabric I’m using to pull all my colors from and the glaze is being custom mixed and I’m not only making an extra dozen, I’m making several yards of those thin liner tiles that are about an inch wide, just in case I need them for who knows what.
I also ordered a set of stamped Celtic knot tiles to put on the top of an plain, nothing yard-sale end table. The table has handles on it so it sort of looks like a tray anyway, I’m stripping it and painting it a dark dark deep in the forest at midnight green. The tiles are a transparent fresh green, with a darker glaze rubbed over it to highlight the detail. (The sample is persimmon; mine are green).
