Standardized Testing

I taught school for my entire adult life, starting as a sub in 1971. I can confidently say that standardized testing is useless and harmful to children

As a parent, you can opt out

Just say no.

There is no reason for your child to feel stressed out by a test that not only doesn’t measure anything useful, it doesn’t tell you anything either.

It’s a bubble sheet and the teacher, who has helped your child for 140 days, can’t help. All they can say is “Do your best Don’t worry about it.”

Children aren’t stupid . They know how important this test is and they know when it is too hard. Bubbling is almost too hard for anyone.

So do yourself and your child a favor.

OPT OUT.

I’m not a fan of homework either. 20 minutes of reading is ENOUGH. They need more outside time, not less.
